A busy street in Canada

Topik yang Dibahas

You have plenty of options for where to shop and eat in Canada, but opening hours can be totally different depending on where you live (or visit). Some provinces and territories allow shops to open 24-hours a day, seven days a week, so you will never be caught short! Supermarkets are usually open from 7:00am to 11:00pm.

Shopping centres

Shopaholics will love Alberta's West Edmonton Mall. As well as choosing between 800 stores, you can have fun at several amusement parks, an ice palace, a miniature golf course and a waterpark. Or you might like to visit Toronto's Eaton Shopping Centre, which has a huge collection of shops, clothiers and restaurants in a towering, historic mall with a glass ceiling.

Dining

While Canada's fine-dining scene doesn't get as much attention as the USA and Europe, cities like Toronto offer a huge diversity of restaurant options and creative menus. You might not be able to pinpoint 'traditional' Canadian food, but you can satisfy your tastebuds at Indian restaurants, Cuban diners, Korean tapas bars, busy pizzerias, bustling barbecue joints and much more.

Tipping

You don't have to tip in Canada, but most people generally do for service, especially at sit-down restaurants with table service. The average tip is usually 15 to 20 per cent of the total cost of your meal.
