International Students: Here's What Canadian Educational Institutions Offer in Terms of Campus Facilities and Amenities

As an international student, the facilities, amenities, and services that your university or college offers can be a big deciding factor in where you choose to study. In fact, it can make all the difference to your student experience. To help you decide which college or university is right for you, here’s an overview of common campus facilities in Canada, including which ones are most important for international students.

How Important are Campus Facilities when Choosing a university or College?

According to a recent survey, a majority of students say that campus facilities play a significant role in which college or university they decide to study at. These facilities contribute to general happiness, safety, and mental health, and can play a role in the quality of day-to-day studies. The top facilities that attracted students to a specific education institution were:

  • Library

  • Gym

  • Dining

  • Labs

  • Dorms

The quality of these facilities can include factors such as accessibility and inclusivity, with students noting that gender-neutral bathrooms contribute to a sense of happiness and well-being.
