Studying in Canada can be one of the most exciting experiences you’ll have as an international student. However, living in the city or even the suburbs can get rather expensive as the cost of living and tuition fees are constantly rising!
Thankfully, in Canada, students with a study permit pursuing a full-time programme in a recognised institution can work for any business in Canada. This means both part-time jobs on and off-campus!
Plus, it isn’t always about the money. By working part-time you’ll pick up valuable on the job skills, and build your network and self-independence in the workforce.

Thankfully, if you need to max out your work hours, you can work more than one job as long as it doesn’t exceed the hours. That means you can work both off and on-campus!
During the school breaks, such as your winter and summer holidays, you are free to work full-time and even overtime to exceed your usual hours.
This will help you earn more money to help with your school expenses as well as stockpile cash just in case you would like to travel around the country during your next holiday!
When you have completed your study program, you can now apply for a
Good News! Instead of being limited to 20 hours per week, from November 15, post-secondary international students will be able to work as much as they like (including full-time job). The temporary measure will be in place until December 31, 2023.
Sometimes there could be circumstances where you get to embark on work placements, industrial attachments or internships as part of your study program.
