At Sacred Heart University, there are two intakes a year for undergraduate programs in August and January and for the graduate programs, it varies by the program. Some program have one intake in a year, others have to and others have three fall, spring and late spring.

Most universities in the United States are on a three semester system, so there would be three intakes, a fall semester, a spring semester and a summer semester. There are some universities that are on a quarter system, so it would differ there. Also, some graduate programs only allow entry in certain semesters. So you'll want to check with the universities that you're applying at. Thank you.

At my school were on the quarter system, so we have four intakes per year in September, January, March, & June. Other schools might have one, two or three intakes, especially those on the semester system, where they might start in September, January and maybe summer to.

Most schools will offer fall and spring in admission intake. At a community college like Golden West College, we also offer summer intake, but this can vary, very much by school and also by the programs within an institution, and especially for master's level programs. So be sure to check out all the admission requirements and the deadlines for each school and each program.
