Graduate Certificate of Counselling and Psychotherapy

This course offers conceptual foundations in the practice of individual psychodynamic counselling and systemic couples and family therapy. The course provides first applied knowledge of counselling case management.

Course learning outcomes
Communicate specialised knowledge, concepts and skills to work with individuals, couples and family and contemporary settings by ethically integrating counselling and psychotherapy theoretical frameworks .
Apply independent professional judgement when analysing and evaluating complex counsellingpsychotherapy clinical problems to generate creative solutions.
Demonstrate self management and reflective practice skills by initiating, planning, conceptualising strategies in working with individuals, couples and families.

Academic admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
Bachelor degree, or
Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

IELTS Academic - Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0).
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition - Minimum score of 84, with no individual score less than 17.
TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) - Minimum score of 573, including Test of Written English of 5.0 or better.
