Focusing on the applications of molecular pharmacology and drug discovery, our MSci will be particularly attractive to students interested in gaining the advanced research, problem solving, and communication skills required to pursue PhD study or employment in a range of settings including the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology.Course overviewSpecialising more or less exclusively in Pharmacology and drug discovery, our MSci offers an additional year on top of the Pharmacology BSc in which to undertake your own extended research project, alongside advanced modules.

During your first and second year, you will acquire a strong grounding in the core biological topics that underpin the study of pharmacology. The MSci programme will also develop advanced skills in the practical study of pharmacology including quantitative analysis of ligand-receptor binding and use ofin vitromodels to study drug action. This will be supported through the development of enhanced skills in the use of computational tools to support rational drug design and their wider application in basic and clinical pharmacology research and drug discovery.
