Medical Engineering integrates engineering principles and biomedical science with innovative manufacturing methodologies. Graduates will emerge with a comprehensive understanding of biomaterials, biomechanics and cutting-edge medical technologies, equipping them with knowledge and skills to address complex challenges in healthcare and medicine. The course focuses on integrating biomaterials into nanomaterials, drug delivery, tissue engineering, and medical devices, and contextualises these within modern fabrication methodologies like additive manufacturing. It also provides a thorough grounding in the process through which medical technologies progress towards clinical application, including the regulatory context and pathways to commercialisation.

A four-year Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a discipline relating to the specialisation to be studied within the Master course as approved by the Faculty, with at least high credit (65%) average.
