Our public health program is built on the foundation of environmental health sciences, biostatistics, epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, and health management and policy. Our curricula incorporate an ecological approach to disease prevention and health promotion, including cultural, social, environmental, behavioral and economic factors that impact population health.

The Oregon State University public health doctoral degree program with a concentration in environmental and occupational health (EOH) provides research-based training for identifying and measuring hazards, studying potential adverse health effects and discovering new ways to control hazards.

Our program's specialty areas are ergonomics, occupational safety, environmental health and environmental epidemiology.

Our environmental and occupational health doctoral graduates go on to prestigious post-doctoral training, and academic and research positions. They work in a variety of settings, both locally and globally, in government agencies, academia and private industries.

A four-year baccalaureate degree (or international equivalent), a professional degree (such as BPharm, BVsc, MBBS, MD, DVM, DPharm, etc.), or an appropriate U.S./Canadian alternative degree, from a regionally accredited (US) or recognized (International) college or university, with a cumulative B average (equivalent 3.00 on a U.S. 4.00 grading scale) on the most recent baccalaureate degree or any subsequent graduate degree from a regionally accredited (US) or recognized (International) college or university, plus all work completed thereafter.
