Certificate in Dental Assisting

Learn to advance oral health and protect patients with a variety of specialized skills. In the Dental Assisting program, you will build the practical skills and in-depth knowledge needed to prepare patients, perform intra-oral and laboratory procedures and assist dentists using four-handed dentistry techniques. Youll explore head and neck anatomy, infection prevention practices, laboratory techniques and the relationship between general and oral health. You will also develop professional communication and business skills, experience the importance of effective clinic management and explore your role in education. During the practicum portion of this program, youll practice intra-oral procedures on patients at a private dental office and the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Dentistry.

Grade 12
Submit proof of graduation from or enrolment in Grade 12, including one credit in each of the following:
Grade 12 English
Grade 12 Math
Grade 12 Science (Biology 40S is recommended)
If you provide proof of enrolment at time of application, your official final grades indicating successful completion must be submitted by July 15 for fall enrolment or by the deadline specified in your admission letter
If you are required to complete an English language assessment, do not submit your transcripts until requested to do so.

IELTS Academic - 6.5 Overall (L- 6.5, S - 6.5, R - 6.5, W - 6.0)
TOEFL iBT - 80 Overall (L- 20, S - 20, R - 19, W - 21)
Duolingo - Minimum Overal Score of 115 Required.
