Master of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education

Deepen your knowledge of how your students learn mathematics and help them engage with and succeed in the subject. This program is an opportunity to explore curriculum changes at your school to benefit your students, while also upgrading your own qualifications. Practicing secondary mathematics teachers who want to build a broad understanding of mathematics and mathematics education, and gain the knowledge needed to deal with rapid curriculum change in the next several decades.
We recognize that teachers interested in this program may have completed their university work some time ago, and the courses are designed with this in mind. In other words, you wont need to recall details of your undergraduate mathematics courses.

A bachelor's degree from Simon Fraser University or its equivalent with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0/4.33 (B), or a grade point average of at least 3.33/4.33 (B+) based on the last 60 units of undergraduate/graduate courses will normally be required for admission.

IELTS - Overall band score of 7.0 of the academic (NOT general) test with a minimum of 6.5 in each section. TOEFL IBT - 93, with a minimum score of 20 in each category. For the paper-based TOEFL test, the University normally requires a score of 580, with TWE 5. Pearson Academic (PTE) - Overall 65 minimum 60 in all of their sections.
