Study Abroad Programme (Non-Exchange) (Full Academic Year plus Work Placement in Summer) (Engineering stream)

The SETU Waterford Study Abroad Programme (Non-Exchange) is suitable for any international student who wishes to spend either a semester or a year of their undergraduate studies at SETU Waterford. A Study Abroad Agreement must be in place between your home university and SETU Waterford. Study Abroad students select modules, sit examinations and receive credit just like full-time SETU Waterford students. Therefore, they become fully integrated into the student body and can avail of our on-campus accommodation, join our extensive number of clubs and societies, and benefit from the excellent support provided by our Office for International Relations team.

Entry requirements for Study Abroad students are 2.7 GPA cum. (min) at a recognised U.S. university or college or 60% average grades at university. All students whose first language is not English must be able to provide evidence that their spoken and written level of English is adequate for the programme for which they have applied. The relevant certified documentation to support this shall be provided as part of the application process. An approved English language qualification or test result (see below for list of approved qualifications and test results). The qualification or test result shall have been awarded no more than two years prior to the proposed date of enrolment. Substantial education (minimum one academic year) or work experience (minimum eighteen months) conducted through English and undertaken no more than two years prior to the proposed date of enrolment. Satisfactory completion of an interview process for entry onto the programme.
IELTS - 5.5 IELTS (minimum of 5 IELTS in each component), TOEFL Computer Based Test - 196 (min score of 15 in each component), TOEFL Internet Based Test - 70 (min score of 15 in each component), TOEFL Paper Based Test 550.
