Graduate Certificate of Finance and Actuarial Statistics (6404)

The Graduate Certificate of Finance and Actuarial Statistics is designed for students who wish to:

Develop a greater understanding of financial, actuarial or statistical principles and their application;
Gain Part II exemption status for the Institute of Actuaries;
Improve analytical skills for interpreting and analysing financial, actuarial or statistical information;
Increase management skills for dealing with organisations, teams and policy issues; and,
Expand their applied knowledge in various specialised areas of finance, actuarial studies or applied statistics.

Learning Outcomes
Recognise the important role of finance, actuarial or statistical principles and their application;

Demonstrate the necessary analytical skills for interpreting and analysing financial, actuarial or statistical information;

Justify and communicate the necessary management skills for dealing with organisations, teams and policy issues, so as to be able to work independently and collaboratively to collect, process, interpret and communicate the outcomes of financial, actuarial or statistical problems

Applicants must present the following A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 4.5-7.0 The GPA for a Bachelor program will be calculated from i a completed Bachelor degree using all grades and or ii a completed Bachelor degree using all grades other than those from the last semester or equivalent study period of the Bachelor degree The higher of the two calculations will be used as the basis for admission IELTS - Overall score - 6.5, Reading - 6.0, Writing - 6.0, Listening - 6.0, Speaking - 6.0. TOEFL IBT Paper Edition - Overall score - 80, Reading - 20, Writing - 20, Listening - 18, Speaking - 18.
