The BAdvSci(Hons)BDes conjoint is designed for students who are keen on scientific research and wish to progress to postgraduate study. For the Design component, you will focus on developing practical solutions for current challenges and future scenarios. The Design courses encourage system analysis, prototype development and iterative testing to create appropriate, sustainable solutions for products, services and innovation. Within the Advanced Science side of the conjoint, you will have the opportunity to focus on a research area that interests you, including a final year independent project under the mentorship of an academic. You’ll choose one of the following specialisations: Chemistry, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Ecology, Environmental Change, Geology, Marine Science, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Statistics. Most graduates of the BAdvSci(Hons) programme have an interest in pursuing postgraduate scientific study or advanced research careers. With the support of creative problem-solving and design skills, you will be uniquely positioned to explore and translate the real potential and application of new scientific discoveries.
Computer Science is the study of computers and computer concepts: their systems, design, development and use. Computer technology, it seems, is everywhere in today’s world. It has become an ever-growing part of human life, affecting many aspects of a person’s day. Computer scientists have an impact on how our society advances by developing and maintaining these systems: whether it be for our home, work, learning or entertainment environments.
