Master of Public Health / Doctor of Philosophy in Nutritional Science

Public health is an interdisciplinary field rooted in science and social justice that focuses on preventing disease and injury. Public health is not limited to treating patients in clinics and hospitals. Instead, public health practitioners look more inclusively at the behaviors, environment, and policies that help prevent or cause disease and injury. Public health practitioners identify needs, craft interdisciplinary solutions to problems, and implement meaningful change to impact populations. Public health practitioners make a real difference in the lives of others.The M.P.H. can be earned jointly with the Ph.D. in Nutritional Science. In the joint program up to 12 hours of coursework may be applied to both degrees, and the degrees are conferred simultaneously at the completion of the program.

All applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA (out of 4.0 GPA) to apply to the MPH program. GPA is calculated from the last 60 hours (approximately two years) of undergraduate coursework.Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in a health or disability-related discipline and/or a strong background in social and biological sciences and quantitative methods.Our graduate college requires a minimum TOEFL iBT score >102 (IELTS > 6.5) for full status admission.
