PhD in Ultrasonics and Embedded Systems

A PhD is the most internationally recognised research qualification, and is the most commonly pursued research degree at Leeds. To complete a postgraduate research programme, youll need to be dedicated and passionate about your area of study. But itll be well worth it. Being a doctoral student is challenging, yet incredibly rewarding. The group has an interdisciplinary culture and a broad research area combining the fields of Engineering, Physics, Medicine and Mathematics. The group's expertise encompasses the application of ultrasonics and embedded systems to a wide range of problems from biomedical imaging and therapy to industrial measurement and sensing. The main strength of the research team is the development of bespoke electronics and novel signal processing algorithms.

You must have achieved a bachelor degree with a 2:1 (hons), or equivalent, or a good performance in a Masters level course in a relevant subject. We also recognise relevant industrial and academic experience.
IELTS band score 6.0 - with not less than 5.5 in any skill area or Internet based TOEFL 80 (with not less than 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 19 in writing).
