As one of the nations largest universities, University of North Texas offer 109 bachelors, 94 masters and 36 doctoral degree programs. By providing access, welcoming diversity and strengthening their collaborations with many educational, business and community partners, as well as building new partnerships across the globe, UNTs faculty and staff work each day to prepare students for the challenges they will meet in their changing world. At the heart of the university’s efforts to carry out its mission are the faculty. Individually, UNT faculty members have been singled out for contributions to their teaching and research fields through diverse national and international awards. Collectively, the faculty have contributed significantly to research and scholarship within various fields through numerous publications, presentations at scholarly conferences, concerts, recitals, exhibitions and performances. Faculty leadership in teaching, research, creative activities, performance and service activities has created national and international reputations for excellence for a number of academic programs within the university’s 12 schools and colleges. A metropolitan area offers a wealth of job opportunities, plus entertainment, culture, shopping and professional sports. A college town offers a peaceful haven for study and research. UNT has the advantages of both. The university is located in Denton, a town of about 136,000 people only 36 miles north of Dallas-Fort Worth, the countrys fourth-largest metropolitan area.
