BSc (Hons) in Biology and Computer Science

Biology involves the study of life at all levels of organisation, from the molecular biology of virus replication to the study of animals and plants in their natural habitats. Biology also touches on many aspects of contemporary life, from drug design and investigating the molecular basis of Alzheimer's disease, to the migration and conservation of marine mammals.
Normally, for joint degree programmes, the subject with the higher entry requirements determines the grades you need. However, Biology and Computer Science BSc (Hons) joint degree programme has different entry requirements which are listed below.

SQA Highers
Standard entry grades:
AAAAB, including Biology (or Human Biology) and an A in Mathematics.
Minimum entry grades:
AABB, including Biology (or Human Biology) and an A in Mathematics.
Gateway entry grades:
Applicants who have narrowly missed the minimum entry grades, but meet the University's contextual criteria, may be interested in one of the University's Gateway programmes.
GCE A-Levels
Standard entry grades:
AAA, including Biology and an A in Mathematics.
Minimum entry grades:
ABB, including Biology and an A in Mathematics.
IB points
Standard entry grades:
38 (HL 6,6,6), including HL6 in Biology and HL6 in Mathematics.
Minimum entry grades:
36 (HL 6,6,5), including HL6 in Biology and HL6 in Mathematics.

IELTS (Academic) - Minimum overall score 6.5, with 6.0. minimum component scores (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking).
TOEFL iBT - 79 Minimum overall score, with minimum component scores (Listening-12, Reading-13, Writing-21, Speaking-18).
