Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies and Master of Public Management (MPM)

Students are encouraged to take introductory courses in political science, management, and economics before graduating from their undergraduate programs since these courses are prerequisites for full matriculation into the MPM. A course in financial accounting is also highly recommended. Students achieve matriculation only after they obtain their undergraduate degree. The prerequisite requirements must be completed by then.

In order to complete the joint degree, students take 9-11 graduate credits, which count both in their undergraduate program and in the MPM. The graduate credits are taken in place of elective undergraduate credits. Students get advising from both the graduate coordinator and their undergraduate advisor. Admission is on a rolling basis and applicants may start their program of study in any semester.

Adequate test of English language proficiency: This is required for all applicants whose native language is not English. It can be accomplished by submitting results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (iBt 79) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (minimum required score: 6.5).
Additional accepted English proficiency exams: Duolingo Test (minimum required score: 100), Pearson PTE (minimum required score: 50), DAAD (minimum required score: B2), EIKEN (minimum required score: Pre-1), and iTEP (minimum required score: 3.5).
Applicants who have received an Associate's degree from a regionally accredited United States college or university are not required to submit an English proficiency exam.

Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average: Worcester State requires a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA from the last institution you attended.
