Minimum TOEFL, PTE and IELTS scores for LPDP scholarship 2025

The last thing you want – is to be rejected for the LPDP scholarship because you did not meet the minimum TOEFL, PTE or IELTS scores.

One of the most prestigious and generous scholarships for Indonesians, the LPDP (Education Fund Management Institute) scholarship funds expenses such as:

• Tuition fees for postgraduate study

According to data as of August 2024, there are a total of 49,896 LPDP awardees, and more than 24,000 students have succeeded in becoming alumni at various Indonesian and foreign universities.

To be awarded the scholarship, there are several requirements that you need to fulfill. Besides having a high-enough Grade Point Average (GPA), you must also meet the English proficiency score requirements.

English language scores required for LPDP

When applying for the LPDP scholarship, you will be asked to submit an English proficiency certificate issued no later than two years prior to the scholarship application year. Eligible tests include IELTS (International English Language Testing System), which is co-owned by IDP, British Council and Cambridge English, TOEFL by ETS (Educational Testing Service), PTE (Pearson Test of English).

For the LPDP scholarship program for Papuan Youth, there are no specific rules regarding English proficiency scores, either for domestic/foreign masters or domestic/foreign doctorates.
