These scholarships are available as part of the University's wider partnership work with Kellas Midstream to facilitate change in the energy sector by building new business opportunities around net zero.
The scholarship is paid across three instalments in each academic year, normally October, January and March.
After you have successfully completed your undergraduate degree, you can apply for a further £12,000 to study an eligible postgraduate MSc course.
Eligibility
To apply for one of these scholarships you must:
enrol on our BEng (Hons) Energy Engineering
be applying for the first year of a three-year full-time degree, not a foundation year
be domiciled in the UK and eligible to pay the home fee rate.
The University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship and stop further payments if you withdraw from your course, suspend studies, transfer to an ineligible course or to another institution. Payments may also be suspended or the scholarship permanently withdrawn if you don't remain fully committed and engaged with your learning, or if you fail to successfully progress to the next level of your course. You are required to maintain an excellent record of attendance, to complete all course assignments and assessments, and pay course fees when they are due.
Before you apply for a scholarship you need a formal offer (conditional or unconditional) of a place on an eligible course from the University. You are then sent a scholarship application form to complete shortly after you have accepted your offer of a place. Your offer includes your student ID which you will need for your scholarship application. If you are eligible you are invited to apply shortly after you receive an offer. You shouldn't rely on scholarship payments to pay your course fees as course fee due dates may be earlier than when you receive your scholarship payments. 30 June 2025: closing date. You can submit an application after this date but applicants meeting the deadline are given priority. 1 September 2025: successful applicants are notified.
