Len Stevens Scholarship

A proposal for an experience that will enhance your study and broaden general experience

A time-frame for the proposed experience, which must be within the candidature or while you are still enrolled in your current course

A detailed budget, limited to a maximum of AUD $15,000, including any alternative sources of funding.

A 500-1000 word personal statement outlining:

your career aspirations

the impact of the opportunities which the experience would enable you to pursue

the ambassadorial potential for the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.

Shortlisted students will be required to attend an interview in early to mid November.

This scholarship supports high-performing graduate students within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology to undertake a project or experience beyond the core requirements of their studies. The Len Stevens Scholarship provides the recipient with an exciting opportunity to undertake a program of extracurricular learning of their choice, either locally or internationally. The proposed program could be in community development, humanitarian programs or could involve visits to universities, research centres or labs. While current international travel restrictions are in place, viable components of your project may include experiences such as virtual conferences, leadership courses or domestic fieldwork.

Benefits

A one-off payment equal up to AUD $15,000. The exact amount will be determined by the selection committee.

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

be enrolled in a graduate coursework or research higher degree within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology

have completed at least one semester of study if enrolled in a graduate coursework program OR, be post-confirmation if enrolled in a research higher degree program

propose to participate in a learning opportunity beyond the requirements of your course.
