Up to 20 awards of £7,000 are available in 2025/26. Successful candidates receive £2,000 for their first, second and third years. There is also a further £1,000 available as Career Employability funding.

These scholarships are for Black UK applicants, towards your first year of undergraduate study and employability opportunities.
Up to 20 awards of £7,000 are available in 2025/26.
The payments are £2,000 in the first year and £750 in the second and third years. We also offer up to £1,000 of funding support for employability opportunities, such as internships, placements or summer research programmes.
You can apply if you:
have one of the following categories of ethnicity:
Black African
Black Caribbean
Black Other
Mixed – White and Black Caribbean
Mixed – White and Black African
Other mixed background (to include Black African, Black Caribbean or Black Other)
are a UK applicant for full-time undergraduate study
have an offer (or are awaiting a decision) to study for an undergraduate degree starting in 2025/26
have a household income of £50,000 or less as confirmed by the Student Loans Company.
Black Futures is part of the additional funding programme. Applications are made via the additional funding page.
