In making the recommendation, the selection committee considers the aspiration to make a difference to the world, in particular to Maori and/or Pacific/Pasifika communities.
If, in any year, there are fewer candidates of sufficient merit than there are scholarships available, fewer scholarships are offered.
This scholarship offers financial assistance, and industry connections and advice, to M?ori and Pacific/Pasifika undergraduate Engineering students at Te Whare W?nanga o Waitaha University of Canterbury.

Applicants must: a. have whakapapa Maori and/or b. be a Pacific/Pasifika student1 .
Applicants must be enrolled at the University in Third Year of a programme for a BE(Hons) degree.
