In making the recommendation, the selection committee considers academic achievement.

If, in any year, there is no candidate of sufficient merit, no scholarship is offered.

Applicants must be enrolled, or intending to enrol, in postgraduate study in Astronomy or Astrophysics at the University: either in a programme for a PhD or in Part II of a programme for an MSc degree.

Tenure: Up to 120 points of enrolment

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Full-time or part-time postgraduate study in Astronomy or Astrophysics: either in a programme for a PhD or in Part II of a programme for an MSc degree.

Applications must be made online at the Scholarships website by 15 October.

A recipient of the award may apply for the award again in subsequent years and would be considered on an equal basis with other applicants.
