The Sporting Excellence Scholarship provides funding to support University of Reading students who compete in sport at national level, or who are on the national pathway. To be eligible to apply for the Sporting Excellence Scholarship, you must be a student with a confirmed place at the University of Reading- you can be undergraduate or postgraduate, part-time or full-time. Home, EU, and international students are all welcome to apply. The national team you represent does not need to be England or Great Britain.
The scholarship provides up to £1500 which will be made as a one-time payment. This money can help Scholars with travel to trials, cost of equipment, coaching, nutritional advice, gym memberships and other costs associated with competing in performance sport.
The Sporting Excellence Scholarship provides funding of up to £1500 to students who compete in sport at national level, or who are on the national pathway.
To apply for this scholarship, use the form on the Reading Students' Union website.
At a later date you may be asked to provide proof of your sporting level (such as a letter inviting you to national trials). If you are accepted for a scholarship, you will be required to provide evidence of the costs for which you use the scholarship. You will also be required to provide photos and updates of your sporting successes for the purposes of marketing and feedback to your donor supporters.
