The Global Freshman Scholars award is a competitive, merit-based scholarship, awarded to a limited number of well-qualified international students each year. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years, or until a first bachelor's degree is earned, whichever comes first.
To ensure consideration for this opportunity students must be fully admitted to the University by the priority deadlines below. After acceptance to the University of South Alabama, incoming first-time freshman will automatically be reviewed for the Global Freshman Scholars award, and no additional scholarship application is required. A scholarship award notification will be emailed to qualified students through their JagMail account.
Qualifications
Be an international freshman on an F-visa
Be a degree-seeking student
Have a minimum SAT 1060 (or ACT equivalent)
Have a minimum high school GPA is 3.0 (on the 4.0 scale)
Award Opportunities:
SAT Score (or ACT equivalent) 1420-1600 High School GPA 3.5 Annual Amount Awarded USD $10,000
SAT Score (or ACT equivalent) 1360-1410 High School GPA 3.5 Annual Amount Awarded USD $8,000
SAT Score (or ACT equivalent) 1260-1350 High School GPA 3.5 Annual Amount Awarded USD $6,000
SAT Score (or ACT equivalent) 1130-1250 High School GPA 3.5 Annual Amount Awarded USD $4,000
SAT Score (or ACT equivalent) 1060-1120 High School GPA 3.5 Annual Amount Awarded USD $2,000
High School GPA 3.5 English Proficiency Exam TOEFL 76 / IELTS 6.5 / Duolingo 100 Annual Amount Awarded USD $4,000
High School GPA 3.0-3.49 English Proficiency Exam TOEFL 68 / IELTS 6.0 / Duolingo 95 Annual Amount Awarded USD $2,500
