Average IELTS Score of Thai Students - Thailand

Let's take a look at the average IELTS score of Thai students!

What English skills should a Thai student develop quickly?

Statistics show that IELTS scores, which come from the most popular standard English language test in the world, measure four important English skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Scores range from 1.0 to 9.0, and the average score needed to study abroad is 6.5.

According to the latest averages published on IELTS.org in 2015, the test score averages are as follows: listening (6.2), reading (6.0), writing (5.5), and speaking (5.9). Listening and reading, which are skills related to understanding (receptive skills), are the skills at which Thais excel, apparently because they are skills we are familiar with from learning them in the classroom. As for the expression skills of writing and speaking, Thai people still need to be developed. Malaysia, for example, has listening scores of 7.1, reading scores of 7.0, writing scores of 6.1, and speaking scores of 6.8. Philippines: listening 7.2, reading 6.8, writing 6.3, and speaking 6.8. Vietnam: listening 6.0, reading 6.2, writing 5.6, and speaking 5.8.

Thailand's average score for all four skills is 6.0, which is an increase from the previous year's average of 5.0. However, we should aim for a standard of 6.5 or higher, which will make sure that students are ready for school and professional work. For our neighboring countries, the average scores for all four skills are as follows: Malaysia: 6.8; Philippines: 6.8; Vietnam: 6.0.

IELTS is an English test that measures language levels in 3 types:

Academic (to study in many leading countries around the world and in Thailand);

UKVI (to study in the United Kingdom).

Life skills ( for immigration to the United Kingdom). IELTS exams are held 3–4 times a month, while life skills exams are held 1-2 times a month by IDP and the British Council.

Those who want to measure their English for free can contact the IDP office to make an appointment, but if you want to try the most realistic IELTS test at a reasonable price and receive feedback from teachers who are former IELTS examiners, you can also take the IELTS test at a reasonable price.
