The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) is a distinctive degree plan designed to serve students with unique needs or academic interests. The flexibility of the program makes it ideal for students returning to the university to complete a degree or those who have completed significant credit hours at another institution, military service school, or in another degree plan.
We want you to succeed in your Interdisciplinary Studies program, so you have a choice: an individually-tailored plan of study that aligns your interests with your future pursuits OR one of these concentrations that will help you focus your custom degree plan in a multidisciplinary area of study:
Health Studies: Courses in nursing, anthropology, biology, kinesiology, philosophy, psychology, and sociology.
Leadership and Professional Studies: Courses in military science, organizational leadership, and up to 30 credit hours from the College of Business.
Liberal Arts and Social Sciences: Courses in liberal arts (Communications, English, History, International Studies, Music, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Theatre, and Visual Arts) and the social sciences (Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Economics, Military Science, Political Science, Sociology, and Social Work).
Teaching and Learning: Courses in education, sociology, philosophy, and psychology.
