Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering

Chemical engineers work to transform raw materials into products for the benefit and use of mankind. They may work in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, energy and fuels, biotechnology, consumer products and foods and beverages.
CBU's undergraduate degree in chemical engineering will prepare students to use their background in mathematics, science, and engineering fundamentals in a variety of applications. Chemical engineers are highly sought after for their ability to problem solve, analyze and optimize complex systems, work over a wide range of scales and design and improve processes and products in a safe and sustainable way.
CBU's chemical engineering program is one of the only among faith-based schools. We emphasize hands-on experiences while integrating the Christian faith throughout the curriculum. Students research alongside faculty in our high-quality laboratories and some have presented their findings at the AIChE annual meeting.
CBU chemical engineering graduates are expected to acquire:
An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors, An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
