Master of Arts in Education with a California Teaching Credential in Special Education

Through its mentor-guided clinical component, the MA in Education with a California Teaching Credential in Special Education prepares highly skilled special education instructors who are ready to hit the ground running. We believe the best way to prepare great teachers is through real-world experience. In addition to teaching in theory and methods, our program's internship component provides a paid, mentor-guided teaching experience in a K12 setting, where every assignment and class is designed to develop the unique skills and strategies youll need to succeed in the special education environment. Our program lets you earn your MA in Education while simultaneously getting your Preliminary Special Education credential. Youll be mentored by seasoned special education veterans, many of whom have taken time out of the special education arena to pursue doctoral work or to participate in research projects.

Applicants must submit a sealed, official transcript from every undergraduate and graduate institution that has granted the applicant a degree. For undergraduate coursework, applicants are required to submit proof of a completed bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Unofficial copies of transcripts are accepted for review purposes, but official copies will be required upon admission. Applicants must submit a copy of their resume. In addition to entering your test scores in the online application, a copy of your test scores must be submitted with your application. If you have yet to pass CSET, you must submit proof of registration for an upcoming CSET examination. The CBEST is required for all Teacher Education applicants. A minimum TOEFL score of 95 iBT, or a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 with no sub-score lower than 6.5, is required for direct-entry admission.
