Master of Information Systems Security Management

Concordia University of Edmonton is proud to bring you a unique, mature and much-needed Information Systems Security program. The need for security professionals is growing along with increasing reliance of businesses and governments on IT. The employer demand for information systems security professionals shows no end in sight. The program maintains a sharp focus on the needs of employers and changes in industry.

The program allows you preparation time for writing the certification exam for Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Please note it is a studentgraduate responsibility to register and pay for the actual CISSP exam. Some studentsgraduates also choose to write the certification exam for Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) as well as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

To be considered for admission, applicants must present the following requirements:

An undergraduate degree from a recognized educational institution: normally a four-year Bachelor’s degree (computing science, IT or MIS). Students with a relevant three-year undergraduate degree may be admissible but may be required to take qualifying courses. Space is limited and admission is competitive; as such meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
An admission grade point average (AGPA) of at least 3.0 (on Concordia University of Edmonton’s 4-point scale) or equivalent on the most recently completed 60 credits.

A satisfactory score on one of the following approved English language proficiency examinations, taken within the last two years, as described below:

CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) Assessment. The minimum satisfactory overall score is 60, with at least 60 on each subtest.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) academic module. The minimum satisfactory overall score is 6.0, with no individual band below 6.0.
Pearson Test of English (Academic). The minimum satisfactory score is 54.
MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery). The minimum satisfactory score is 85.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). The minimum satisfactory score is 550 (PBT) or 80 (iBT).
