Master of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology

The master's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology at Florida Tech is part of the Biological Sciences graduate program. Through research on fundamental mechanisms carried out by cells and tissues, students discover new information that gives us a better understanding of how life itself works, and helps understand the molecular basis of human diseases. Graduate students and professors also develop medical and environmental technologies to improve the lives of people around the world
Participating professors from the Biology program in the Biomedical Engineering and Sciences department create a dynamic program that provides a deeper understanding of molecular functions to help detect, prevent, and cure diseases.

Graduate students in the master's in cell and molecular biology degree program gain expanded expertise in such areas as DNA and protein purification, recombinant DNA technology, synthetic biology, biotechnology, genomics, bioinformatics, biopharmaceuticals, and more.

Students looking to enroll in a master's degree program at Florida Tech must hold a bachelor's degree (four-year degree) in a related field from a recognized, regionally accredited college or university (or the international equivalent). Applicants must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 as an undergraduate to be considered for admission to a Florida Tech master's degree program.

English language proficiency:

Students whose home language is not English are considered to have demonstrated English language proficiency if they have accomplished any of the following: an Internet-based TOEFL (standard, home and paper) with an earned score of at least 79; or an IELTS with an earned score of at least 6.0; or a PTE Academic with an earned score of at least 58; or a Cambridge English: Advanced with an earned score of at least 180 (Grade of C); or a Duolingo English Test with an earned score of at least 100; ELS English for Academic Purposes level 112.
