Associate of Arts in Psychology

The Associate Degree is designed to provide an educational experience that prepares students for work, citizenship, and an enriched life as an educated person, and to lay a solid foundation for further study in the field of Psychology.

Students with an Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology who are interested in continuing their degree studies at KPU can pursue the Bachelor of Arts, Major in Human Behaviour and Applied Psychology degree, a Bachelor of Arts, Major in Psychology degree, a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology degree, or a Minor in Psychology when combined with another bachelor’s degree program. You have graduated high school (secondary school) OR completed 24+ credits of undergraduate-level credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

English Proficiency Requirements

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Test: overall band of 6.5 or higher, with a minimum 6.0 in each band, taken within the last two years from the term of admission

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): IBT 88 or higher, with no sub score less than 20, taken within the last two years from the term of admission

Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): Score of 70 or higher with no sub score less than 60, taken within the last two years from the term of admission

Pearson Test of English (PTE): Score of 61 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission

Language Proficiency Index (LPI): Level 5 with an essay score of 30 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission.
