The Roc Nation's School of Music, Sports & Entertainment's innovative B.A. in Sports Communication & Marketing unique in the NYC metropolitan area prepares students for careers in a dynamic and growing spectrum of sports media. Because the business of sports is a 200 billion industry in the U.S., the demand for students with knowledge of business and communication is growing.

Students will gain hands-on experience in areas such as sports writing and reporting, promotion of sports teams, events and products, performing as a play-by-play announcer or program host, and production of sports content for traditional, online and social media. Graduates of the major can pursue internships an jobs in sports broadcasting, sports management, or sports information.

The program's location in Brooklyn provides ample sports franchise opportunities (Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets are just 1/2- mile from campus) and capitalizes on LIU's relationships with sports reporters, publicists and experts in New York City and beyond.

Drawing on years of industry experience, LIU's faculty experts create a dynamic course of study through experiential learning and access to world-renowned sports industry professionals.

Students gain practical experience in sports writing and reporting, promotion of sports teams, events and products, performing as a play-by-play announcer or program host, and production of sports content for traditional, online and social media. Students also have the opportunity to engage with LIU's robust alumni network, which includes notable sports reporters, publicists and experts in New York City and beyond. Graduates of the program are ready for careers in sports broadcasting, sports management, or sports information.

LIU Brooklyn's location in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn provides students with ample access to and opportunities with sports franchises Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets, is just 4 blocks from campus.

2. Transcripts for all high school and post-high school institutions attended.
All transcripts must be submitted in English or translated into English by a professional translation company.
Transfer students who studied outside the US must submit a NACES evaluation in order to receive transfer credit.
3. Proof of English language proficiency testing (we accept IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo, SAT and ACT).
Applicants may be eligible for an English language proficiency testing waiver based on citizenship and/or prior education where English is the first language.
