Biology is the study of life and living organisms. A Biology Major allows students the flexibility to take a number of courses across various fields of biology including: genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, ecology, evolution, anatomy and physiology. These courses provide a solid foundation to understand living organisms, their composition, life cycles, adaptations and environments. In the Biology Major, students will combine their theoretical knowledge with the development of practical skills through various experiential learning opportunities. Students also have the ability to specialize by completing a set of courses leading to concentrations in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, or Ecology and Evolution. Study living systems by exploring the structure and function of cells and the lifecycles, adaptations and habitats of organisms. Pursue your interests through courses in anatomy, physiology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, ecology and evolution.

High school: High School applicants must present five Grade 12 level courses for admission. Included in these five courses, applicants must present the required subjects for their intended program of choice. The specific courses required for your program count towards your Group A courses. The additional subject(s) which may be presented for admission include the following courses from Group A, B, or C. High School/Secondary and/or Post-secondary (transferable to MRU) courses 2 years of full-time study in English (see list of English-speaking countries below) and English Language Arts 30 1 (equivalent) TOEFL iBT - 86 (min. 20 in each of four sections) IELTS - 6.5 (min. 5.5 on each band)
