Bachelor of Science in Biology - Molecular Biology

Gain a solid foundation in the biological sciences, with a particular focus in molecular biology, to prepare you for a career in medicine, dentistry, podiatry, and more. The Biology, B.S. with a Molecular Biology concentration allows you to undertake cutting-edge independent research with our faculty scientists, and gain real-world experience through internships at leading facilities such as Pfizer, MIT, New York-Presbyterian, and more.
The degree includes a core curriculum in humanities and research principles and practices, followed by coursework in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, evolutionary biology, general and organic chemistry, physics, and calculus. With the concentration in Molecular Biology, youll choose from electives in areas such as virology, genetic engineering, immunology, pharmacology, and more, allowing you to prepare for a career in biotechnology, genetics, biomedical research, and more.
You'll get critical experience through internships at metropolitan area hospitals such as Columbia University Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital and pharmaceutical companies like Advanced Biotech, Boheringer Ingleheim, and Pfizer.

To be considered for admission to New York Institute of Technology, you must have satisfactorily completed high school (secondary school) with at least a B average or a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.00 scale.
Copies of transcripts of all high school work, including college-level courses.
Mid-year and final grades will be required.
Proof of high school graduation.
Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo English Test, or IB English scores).
Two letters of recommendation.
A 300 to 350 word essay describing your career goals in the major you applied for and how attending New York Tech would further those goals.
SAT/ACT scores are not required for international students.
