Bachelor of Science in Biology

Prepare for a career in medicine, dentistry, podiatry, and more with a solid, experiential grounding in the biological sciences. Our Bachelor of Science in Biology comprises a core curriculum in humanities and research principles and practices, followed by coursework in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, evolutionary biology, general and organic chemistry, physics, and calculus. Our major also fulfills all the requirements for entrance to medical school, or to pursue graduate studies in dentistry, podiatry, veterinary medicine, and other areas.

Our faculty members are experts in their fields, offering you a range of research opportunities in areas such as anatomy and histology, animal behavior, biochemistry, cancer biology, genetics, microbiology, neuroscience, and molecular and cellular biology.
You'll get critical experience through internships at metropolitan area hospitals such as Columbia University Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital and pharmaceutical companies like Advanced Biotech, Boheringer Ingleheim, and Pfizer.

To be considered for admission to New York Institute of Technology, you must have satisfactorily completed high school (secondary school) with at least a B average or a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.00 scale.
Copies of transcripts of all high school work, including college-level courses.
Mid-year and final grades will be required.
Proof of high school graduation.
Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo English Test, or IB English scores).
Two letters of recommendation.
A 300 to 350 word essay describing your career goals in the major you applied for and how attending New York Tech would further those goals.
SAT/ACT scores are not required for international students.
