The Graduate Certificate in Women, Gender, Sexuality, and the Law, open to all JD students, gives students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and develop their expertise in the area of women, gender, sexuality, and the law. If you are interested in the ways in which gender, sexuality and related categories of identity are shaped by culture and society, and how you can make a difference in this critical field, the Graduate Certificate in Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) will provide you with opportunities for-

Analyzing contemporary feminist and queer theoretical frameworks, methodologies, issues and topics and their relation to established disciplines
Focusing on the intersection of gender with sexuality, race, class and other vectors of power and identity
Broadening and enriching analytical skills in one or more disciplines while drawing on the interdisciplinary perspectives of WGSS
Challenging the traditional separation of academic theory from political and professional practice
The Graduate Certificate in Women, Gender, Sexuality and the Law encompasses a wide range of courses, including courses in sexuality, reproductive rights, race and the law, queer theory, feminist resistance and more. Through courses, co-ops and writing a substantial paper, your studies will be grounded in the context of law and layered with laser-focused knowledge, professionally informed observations and unique insights, both from your law professors and from faculty and colleagues across our global university.

Two letters of recommendation from individuals who have either academic or professional knowledge of your capabilities such as a faculty member, colleague, or mentor, preferably one from your current employer
English language proficiency proof. Students for whom English is not their primary language must submit one of the following:
Official associate or bachelor's degree transcript from an accredited college or university in the U.S., stating degree conferral and date
TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo, or NU Global Exam scores
TOEFL iBT - Minimum Score 85 and a writing portion of 20
IELTS - Minimum Score 6.5 no band lower than 6
