As a data scientist, you are responsible for handling raw data, analysing it, identifying patterns and presenting insights so that it's useful for forecasting and predicting business problems. Data science uses maths, statistics, machine learning, computer science disciplines and toolsets such as Python, SQL and R.
Data science skills are in high demand across all industries including financial organisations, software houses, communications companies, data warehouses, multinational companies, governmental agencies, computer games, manufacturing and healthcare.

Within this degree, you develop your technical and critical thinking skills in applying data science knowledge to real-world problems. You learn programming, software fundamentals for digital innovation, applied machine learning, big data and business intelligence, interactive visualisation of data, and applications. You explore the professional, ethical, security and social implications of data science technologies. And you develop a range of transferable skills to progress into industry.
