The B.F.A. Studio Art program educates visually articulate artists with a solid foundation in the conceptual, technical, historical, and professional aspects of the visual arts through a broad range of studio and academic experiences. The Studio Art program has seven studio disciplines that provide outstanding opportunities for students to study in a range of areas including Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Metals, Painting, Printmaking, and Sculpture. These areas also function to bridge students areas of artistic inquiry with other interests and mediums within the Studio program. The B.F.A. degree culminates in the capstone Thesis course, a final Thesis Portfolio, and a B.F.A. Thesis Exhibition. The B.F.A. Studio Art program serves a wide range of student interests and pursuits, and prepares students for professional careers as artists and arts professionals. The School of Art and Design fosters creative and scholarly activities that develop students' conceptual and technical abilities and encourages visually articulate backgrounds.
