Master of Public Administration (MPA) - Financial Management

Employment demand for professionals with leadership, financial management, policy analysis, and other skills imparted by the MPA degree has never been stronger.

Recognizing the multidisciplinary nature of the field, the UIC MPA program faculty represent mastery of many disciplines. Their academic training and research interests cover a broad range of relevant areas including law, management, political science, statistics and research methods, survey research, sociology, economics, business, organizational theory and decision making, human resources, budgeting and finance, and information technology. The program's full-time faculty is complemented by several distinguished adjunct professors who are recognized practitioners in the areas of public policy, law, and administration.

Financial Management includes courses in budgeting, the management of the financial affairs of government, accounting, economics, and special topics courses in areas such as public finance.

Applicants are considered on an individual basis. In addition to the Graduate College minimum requirements, applicants must meet the following program requirements-
Baccalaureate Field No restrictions.
Grade Point Average At least 3.00/4.00 for the final 60 semester (90 quarter) hours of undergraduate study.
Tests Required GRE or GMAT scores are required from applicants who are requesting program-administered financial assistance.

New Paper-Based TOEFL (after August 2018) of 60, with subscores of Reading 19, Listening 17, Writing 21, Institutional Testing Paper-Based TOEFL (prior to August 2018) of 550.
IELTS- 6.5 (no sub scores lower than 6.0)
TOEFL - 80 (Listening-17, Writing- 21, Reading- 19, Speaking- 20)
