Enrolment in this program requires one of the following:
a three year undergraduate degree equivalent to a standard Australian bachelor degree in a discipline containing mathematics up to year two level, and an average mark of 65 overall.
completion of the 7543 UNSW Graduate Certificate in Computing, and an average mark of 65 overall or no fails.
A discipline containing "mathematics up to year two level" would mean that applicants need to have an appropriate background in several of the following areas:
Discrete Maths
Linear Algebra
Engineering Maths
Calculus
Statistics
Probability
Actuarial Maths
Numerical Methods
Vector Algebra
NOTE: The cut-off for students from Chinese non-211 institutions is 75% (as determined by the Postgraduate Coursework Entry Score Calculator).
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 176 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 180 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
