Master of Global Health

The Master of Global Health recognises the connection between health and threats to health around the world. Our teaching and international field placement opportunities will prepare graduates to redress the inequitable distribution of health and health resources, and improve health globally.
The course is designed for graduates who have either a medical or health background, or graduates from other fields who are passionate about equity, and engaging in activities which support and improve health and well-being throughout the life course and across the globe.
The Master of Global Health is a postgraduate coursework degree that will prepare you with the skills and knowledge to enable you to work in public and global health roles. You will learn about the connection between health and threats to health around the world, and will be prepared to redress the inequitable distribution of health and health resources, to ultimately improve health globally.

You will complete core units covering foundational concepts in global health, biostatistics, and epidemiology, and also selective units from a number of global health subject areas, in addition to elective units in public health. Additionally, you will complete a capstone unit comprising one of a project, dissertation, or international placement.

Admission to the Master of Global Health degree requires:

a bachelor's degree with honours or a graduate certificate or graduate diploma from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification or
a bachelor's degree in the field of medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary science, psychology, biological science, medical science, international relations, international development, education, social science, political science, communication and journalism, civil engineering, law, economics or mathematics from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification or
a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field and two years professional work experience in health or international development.
IELTS - A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
TOEFL - IBT score A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
