UTP Stage II - Science

International Year One (UTP Stage II): Science is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Science degree. Upon the successful completion of International Year One (UTP Stage II), you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU.TMU’s Faculty of Science is a powerhouse of leading-edge applied research and education located in the heart of Downtown Toronto. The programs are a careful blend of scientific theory and hands-on practice, each leading to an Honours Bachelor of Science university degree.

Students must turn 17 by the last day of their first semester to be admitted.

Successful completion of Year 12 of secondary school or its equivalent with overall and individual subject requirements depending on program.

GCE A Levels: Science (Financial Mathematics, Mathematics and Its Application) - Two (2) A Levels with final grades of 1 C and 1 D grades in 2 academic subjects; Mathematics and 1 of Biology, Chemistry or Physics with grades of D required at the GCSE/IGCSE/O Level or A Level; Science (Biology, Chemistry, Medical Physics) - Two (2) A Levels with final grades of 1 C and 1 D grades in 2 academic subjects; Mathematics and 2 of Biology, Chemistry or Physics with grades of D required at the GCSE/IGCSE/O Level or A Level.

IB - Science (Financial Mathematics, Mathematics and Its Application) - IB diploma with a total score of 24. IB Mathematics (analysis and approaches or applications and interpretation) and one of biology, chemistry or physics with grades of 3; Science (Biology, Chemistry, Medical Physics) - IB diploma with a total score of 24. IB Mathematics (analysis and approaches or applications and interpretation) and two of biology, chemistry or physics with grades of 3.

English Language Requirements:

Direct Entry: IELTS - IELTS 5.5 with no band lower than 5.0; TOEFL iBT - TOEFL overall 69; Cambridge English - B2 First or C1 Advanced with a minimum score of 162 with no grade lower than 154; Duolingo – 95; Pearson Test of English (PTE) - PTE overall 46, no band below 42; Pearson Versant English Test (PVT) - PVT overall 50.

Integrated Entry: IELTS - IELTS 5.0 with no band lower than 4.5; TOEFL iBT - TOEFL overall 60; Cambridge English - B2 First with a minimum score of 154 with no grade lower than 147; Duolingo – 85; Pearson Test of English (PTE) - PTE overall 38, no band below 34; Pearson Versant English Test (PVT) - PVT overall 46.
