Pre-Financial Mathematics and Statistics (Bachelor of Science)

The Financial Mathematics and Statistics B.S. is a joint major between the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Statistics and Applied Probability, in cooperation with the Department of Economics. This degree is a good fit for you if you would like to learn how mathematics, probability, and statistics play a key role in pricing and hedging securities in the financial markets. The Department offers Bachelor's programs in Statistics and Data Science, Actuarial Science, and Financial Mathematics and Statistics, as well as a minor in Statistical Science, and counts more than 1900 undergraduate students. We are also home to more than 100 graduate students in programs including BS/MS in Actuarial Science, MA in Applied Statistics and PhD in Statistics and Applied Probability, including emphases in Financial Mathematics & Statistics, and Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences.
