Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences/ Master of Arts in Italian and European Union Studies

The Department of French and Italian with the European Union Center offers a 5-year BALAS/MA degree program in Italian and the Master of Arts in European Union Studies (MAEUS). In order to be admitted to this degree program, students apply through a joint application process to their BALASgranting program and the European Union Center during their third year of studies. Requirements for this degree program are identical to those for the stand-alone BALAS and for the stand-alone MAEUS. Students will receive both degrees when the requirements are met for the degrees, the BALAS and MA degrees will be conferred separately and independently. More detailed information may be obtained from department and EUC offices.

A first-year applicant is a degree-seeking student who applies for admission while attending high school and/or hasnt graduated yet, regardless of the amount of college degree credit earned, or is a student enrolled in the fall term who attended college for the first time in the prior summer term, or who, since graduating from high school, hasnt attended another postsecondary institution as a degree-seeking undergraduate student.

A beginning first-year student is required to remain in the academic community and the prescribed first-year program to which they have been admitted for at least two semesters of full-time study.
ACT/SAT
If you choose to report your scores, enter your highest test scores for the ACT composite and/or the SAT total without super-scoring, along with the highest sub-scores you earned in each category regardless of test date. We don't require or use the ACT writing test.
TOEFL iBT/IELTS/Duolingo English Test
If you're including these scores, you should report your highest TOEFL iBT (do not use MyBest score), IELTS Academic, IELTS or Indicator, or Duolingo English Test score and highest sub-scores, regardless of test date. Test scores that will be used to fulfill the English proficiency requirement must be taken within two years of the applicant's date of enrollment in the university. The Duolingo English Test and the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition will be accepted for fall 2024.
