Master of Science of Health Technology

Are you interested in wearable technology, assistive robots, or virtual reality Want to make an impact in the future of health care There is a rapidly growing need for well-trained professionals with skills in software application, hardware engineering, human factors, and user-centered design to create innovative health technologies. The College of Applied Health Sciences, in collaboration with Grainger College of Engineering, offers:

One year (12 months) professional Master of Science degree
36 credit hours
Core courses strengthen skills in human factors and engineering concepts applied to health technology
Electives tailored to individual student interests
Capstone experiences pair students with industry/academic/community partners

Minimum GPA: 3.00/4.00
GPAs below the minimum requirements may still be considered. If offered admission, students with a GPA below 3.00 will be offered admission on a limited status. Students will have one semester to earn a 3.00 GPA and be on full status
Two letters of recommendation
Ideally, one letter will be of academic nature that can speak to your academic capabilities as a graduate-level student and the second letter will be a professional reference.

While GRE scores are not required, you may submit scores if you feel this will enhance your application.
Academic Statement Please write a statement that answers the following questions (500 words maximum):
How has your academic and professional background, including any professional training, prepared you for graduate study?
How will our program help you achieve your intellectual and professional goals?
What are your academic interests, and why do you wish to pursue graduate studies in this specific program?
Personal Statements
Short Answer 1 (250 words maximum): Please describe any experiences and/or challenges that may have shaped your intellectual and personal development.
(250 words maximum): Provide insight into your potential to contribute to a community of inclusion, belonging, and respect in which scholars with diverse perspectives, abilities, and experiences can learn and collaborate productively and positively.
(Optional) Additional Personal Statements Your response to these questions is voluntary and not answering these questions will not affect your admissions decision
(Optional) Short Answer #3 (250 words maximum): Please address any concerns you may have in your application. If, for example, you do not believe that your academic credentials demonstrate your true capabilities, please explain why. Also, describe any gaps in your academic career and work experience or any extenuating circumstances in your profile of which the admissions committee should be made aware.

Program Essay
Innovative Thinking Program Statement (250 words maximum): Describe a health issue that could be addressed through health technology. Discuss how you would innovate to design a solution to address this issue.
International students must also submit Test of English as a Foreign Language scores, with a minimum for full status admission: 103 (TOEFL - IBT) or 7.5 IELTS
