The music curriculum at UT provides innovative and comprehensive instruction in the areas of music technology and composition. By enrolling in our Bachelor of Arts in music degree program, UT students have the opportunity to pursue their own creative interests while acquiring essential knowledge, technical proficiency and a strong foundation in musicianship. The program also affords many opportunities for collaboration with students in other majors (e.g., film, theatre, dance, art, creative writing), and technical theater training with industry professionals through UT's partnership with Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL. Studies in music technology and composition are the foundation of a variety of future music careers including: underscoring, songwriting, media production, arranging, orchestration, music copying and editing, sound design and editing, music recording, mixing, mastering, audio and video archiving, software development, technology sales and support, college teaching and research, composing for classical ensembles and musicians, technology facility coordination and more.
