Philosophy, the pursuit of wisdom, is one of the oldest and most enduring human intellectual enterprises. Philosophy begins in wonderwonder at the richness, order, and beauty of the world around us, wonder at the grandeur and horror of the acts we perpetrate, and, not least, wonder at the mystery and elusiveness of our own nature. But it does not stop there. Philosophers reflect on all these matters, trying to understand the world and themselves. The University of Texas at Austin is among the nation's top fifteen research universities. It is generally considered one of the five best public universities in the country. It offers many resources for interested students, including one of the country's largest research libraries. Transcripts You must upload one copy of the official academic transcript from every senior college you have attended. Transcripts are not required from junior colleges and community colleges
GRE scores are OPTIONAL for the coming cycle 2023-2024. Official GRE scores may be reported by ETS (The Educational Testing Agency) to the Graduate and International Admissions Center. (ETS code for the University of Texas at Austin is 6882). Writing Sample, a sample of written work in philosophy, such as a brief term paper, roughly 4,000 to 6,000 words in length.
A grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or a comparable GPA in upper-division workjunior- and senior-level coursesand in any graduate work already completed is also required.

IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
