Appropriate four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent:
Four-year degree in a relevant degree such as, but not limited to, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Science, Economics or Commerce.
Minimum mid-B average (3.0 on the U of T Scale) is required across courses in the final year. It is expected that the GPA of those admitted into the program will be higher than the minimum.
Evidence of a high level of proficiency (a minimum B average) in quantitative courses that cover subjects is required. Mastery of mathematics including, at a minimum, calculus and linear algebra, is essential, as are courses covering probability and statistics. In cases where evidence of quantitative proficiency is not obvious, applicants must provide supplemental evidence.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer programming. This may be demonstrated through a minimum B average in one or more courses in computer science or in courses relying extensively on computer programming. In cases where evidence of computational proficiency is not obvious, applicants must provide supplemental evidence.
When we review MMA applications, we screen for knowledge of statistics and computer science. Before the program begins in August, admitted students must demonstrate their understanding of the following four areas:
Foundations of Finance
Financial Accounting
Statistics
Python
Two academic references:
Demonstration of academic ability though high GMAT/GRE score is encouraged.
Satisfactory performance on a standardized English Language Test. Minimum TOEFL score of 100 is required, with a minimum of 22 in both writing and speaking, or a minimum IELTS Academic Test with a score of 7.0 with at least 6.5 across all bands.
